The installation of the second Urban Solar Garden is now complete! The second array located at the City Public Work Yards is a 50kW solar array that allows local residents, businesses and non-profit organizations who’ve invested in the project access to renewable energy.
To commemorate the opening of the second Urban Solar Garden, the City of New Westminster is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at the City Public Works Yard (901 1st Street) on Thursday, June 20th from 4PM to 5PM. Formal event preceding’s will start at 4:15PM:
- Greeting and event introduction from Norm Connolly, Community Energy Manager
- Opening remarks from Rod Carle, General Manager of New Westminster Electric Utility
- Special remarks and ribbon cutting with City Official
- Guided tour of the second Urban Solar Garden
